Milky Way double arch over #gornergletscher and #matterhorn . First of all, big thanks to @angelfux for the composition ideas and the motivation to freeze my ass at 3200m by -12 degrees. 360 degrees compositions are not that diverse in similar shooting spots. I shot a bit further down the hill with a foreground taken at blue hour after sunset showing more light on the eastern peaks and leaving the Matterhorn more in the dark.
This is by far the most challenging image I have ever taken. Walking 500 meters with snowshoes at 3200m high with fresh snow was the first challenge and exhausted me more and more at each step. Spending a night in freezing temperature made my toes almost unsensitive and shooting both arches at different times led to stitching complexity in post.
It took me many hours of processing to reach this final result which I am very proud of. First step was to add the HA frames aligned with light frames. Then, PTGui helped a lot in creating both arches and Foreground. Further was some time involved in merging both arches into one sky frame before blending both FG and sky and many adjustment layers. Also used #starxterminator to separate stars from the sky layer.
Settings
- Canon R + 16-35mm F/2.8L III : Sky at 16mm
- Canon R5 + 16-35mm F/2.8L III : FG at 20mm
- Foreground : 15 frames at 5 sec - ISO 500 - F/14
- Sky : 15 frames at 2 min - ISO 800 - F/4
- HA : Enough frames to cover all regions - 4 min - ISO 2000 - F/2.8

Memories from Paris when I tested some new street photography composed of multiple exposures.
Paris is a playground of possibilities when it comes to street and city photography. I tend to visit twice a year to get new opportunities and various conditions.
Can’t wait to head back there again and searching for new compositions but I kinda start to like this style of assembling various shots into a single image.
